Keyboard Extension & Full Access
Nikud Keyboard does not request Full Access. This means the keyboard extension is fully sandboxed by iOS — it cannot access the network, and nothing you type is transmitted or stored. Your keystrokes stay on your device.
Information We Collect
The main app (not the keyboard extension) may collect the following non-personal data:
- Device language — used to understand which languages our users speak.
- Usage data — collected automatically via Firebase Analytics (e.g., app opens, screen views).
No personal information such as your name, email, or typed content is collected.
Purpose of Data Collection
- To understand how the app is used and improve the experience.
- To identify and fix technical issues.
The legal basis for processing usage data is our legitimate interest in improving the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymous usage data. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your data with third parties. Firebase processes analytics data on our behalf.
Data Retention
Analytics data is retained for 14 months. No personal data is stored.
Data Security
Since the keyboard extension has no network access and no personal data is collected, there is minimal data security risk.
Your Rights
You may:
- Opt out of analytics by disabling analytics in your device settings.
- Request information about any data associated with your use by contacting us.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
