Amamit — Privacy Policy
Introduction
Amamit is an iOS civic engagement app for browsing and voting on Knesset statute proposals. This policy explains how the app handles your data.

Information We Collect
Amamit collects the following data:
- User-provided information — age and city, if you choose to provide them. This data is not directly linked to your identity.
- Usage data — collected automatically via Firebase Analytics (e.g., app opens, screen views, voting interactions).
- Crash reports — collected via Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix bugs.
- Advertising data — AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve ads.
Purpose of Data Collection
- To understand how the app is used and improve the experience.
- To provide aggregated demographic insights (age, city) for voting patterns.
- To send notifications about new proposals.
- To identify and fix crashes and technical issues.
- To display advertisements (AdMob).
The legal basis for processing usage and crash data is our legitimate interest in improving the app (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). For personalized advertising, the legal basis is your consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). For user-provided data (age, city), the legal basis is your consent when you choose to provide it (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
Third-Party Services
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymous usage data. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports and diagnostic data.
- Firebase Realtime Database — stores user-provided data (age, city) and voting records.
- AdMob — serves advertisements. On iOS 14.5+, you will be asked via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any ad-related tracking occurs. You can change this choice at any time in Settings > Privacy > Tracking. See Google's ad privacy policy at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Government Data Usage
Amamit displays publicly available data about Knesset statute proposals from the Israeli government.

- Usage: Data is collected from government databases and presented as received. It is not manipulated.
- Accuracy: We do not guarantee the ongoing availability or accuracy of this data.
- Disclaimer: Amamit does not represent or imply any official endorsement or affiliation with the Israeli government. All data is provided "as is" without warranties.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Firebase processes analytics, crash, and database data on our behalf. AdMob processes advertising data as described above.
Data Retention
- User-provided data (age, city) and voting records are stored on Firebase Realtime Database indefinitely unless you request deletion.
- Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Crash reports are retained for 90 days.
Data Security
Your data is stored on Firebase's secure infrastructure. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Age Restrictions
Amamit is intended for users aged 17 and older.
Your Rights
You may:
- Request deletion of your stored data (age, city, votes) by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
- Opt out of ad personalization in your device's privacy settings.
- Request information about any data associated with your use by contacting us.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
